What you’ll do
Open studio at the pottery provides a space and an instructor on hand: hand building, slump mold, and more. Three pottery wheels are available, and tools and the house glazes are provided for you. Beginner through advanced potters are welcome. Instruction in hand building and sculpting — using your hands to shape, carve, coil, or mold your clay into beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces. Safety, use and care of materials, supplies, and the slab roller; applications of underglaze and glazes; wax resist, iron oxide, bas relief, sgraffito, making a template — the list is endless! Make a platter, bowl, or mug your first class. Perhaps all three!
What to bring
A desire to learn and a vision to create something beautiful. Clay is available at the studio for $30 per 25-pound block.
